I came across this "Skin Map" on one of my favorite blogs, BeautyBets (who got the image from Vapour Organic Beauty). Don't you just love the internet? This map helped me make sense of my skincare woes. As I compared it to my own image, I could see how my many vices have contributed to an imperfect complexion. I might think twice the next time I reach for that chocolate cake when I'm pms'ing (but probably not).
Here's the breakdown
Bladder & Digestive System — That's why those vegans have the best skin. Watch what you eat and make sure to drink lots of green juices.
Liver — Cut back on alcohol, heavy food or dairy. This area can also indicate a food allergy.
Kidneys — Dark circles are usually a result of dehydration. Make sure to keep yourself hydrated- water, water, water. Eliminate liquids that dehydrate you- soda, coffee and/or alcohol.
Respiratory system — This is to all those smokers out there, your skin is telling you something.
Heart — Check your blood pressure.
Stomach — Consider a detox/ cleanse or adding more fiber to your diet.
Hormones — It might just be that time of the month, sorry ladies.
