Jane Iredale eye shadows are having a real moment. If you've been tuned into the green beauty world then you'll definitely have seen Iredale's new "In The Blink of a Smoky Eye" shadow kit popping up on all your favorite blogs.
I've never been a huge fan of 'smoky eyes' and the fact is that my eyes are too small to pull a lot of eye makeup off. That's why I'm pretty particular about what types of shadows work for my smaller Asian lids and also what shades don't overwhelm (but accentuate) my face. Too often than not, I'm pulling off/ or not pulling off the "raccoon" look because the shadow has traveled upwards and downwards....and remains everywhere expect where I put it!
The Jane Iredale eye shadow's have gotten such good reviews that I thought I'd give it a try...but a tailored try- no kits, just the shades that stand out to me. I landed on Rose Gold, Shady Lady and Dusk. Dusk by far is my favorite and I've been sporting it daily since I got it.
Dusk is a slightly mauvey silver gray and gives me an instant cleaned up look...tells the world "I tried today," even though I didn't. The texture is great, sheer enough to be user friendly but pigmented enough to build up easily. It also stays put and I don't end up having to wipe off shadow beneath my eyes at that 3pm slump.
Rose Gold is ok...a bit orangey for my skin tone and Shady Lady is slightly too brown- again for my skin tone. But, nevertheless, I'm so glad I tried these out. Finding a solid clean shadow that performs well with such a huge array of shades isn't and easy find.
